The last Ecuadorian coins that bore a mint mark indicating where they were produced were made in 1944 (Mexico). Ecuadorian coins since 1944 have continued being produced by foreign mints, although it now requires active research to find out the mints used after this time period. Little by little, through information from various mints, newspaper articles, books, etc., I hope to be able to piece together this puzzle. Below I will include a summary of my discoveries, as well as additional links to evidence.

Note: Clicking on a linked mint name such as Philadelphia will take you to their website; clicking on a bibliographical reference such as 4 will take you to information on that reference.

Coins with mintmarks
The Ecuadorian coins with mintmarks pose no special problem for attributing the mint. A quick reference to the abbreviations used and summary of the coins minted is below. (Sources for this quick reference are  Seppa & Anderson8, KM9, Altz & Barton10 and my personal collection.)
